The PLD series four-post hoist for underground locomotives and mine trucks is designed to lift and hold wireline, battery, diesel, and other mine locomotives and/or mine trucks at the desired height during inspections, maintenance, and repairs.

PLD hoists are available with a lifting capacity of up to 14 tons for locomotives with a maximum width of up to 1.4 m and a weight of up to 14 Mg, and with a lifting capacity of up to 25 tons for locomotives with a maximum width of up to 1.6 m and a weight of up to 25 Mg. The maximum lifting height is 1,250 mm.

PLD hoists can be used in underground workings classified as:

• methane explosion hazard class “a” and “b”
• not at risk of coal dust explosion
• classified as class “A” or “B” coal dust explosion hazard.
